{"id":27702,"date":"2026-03-02T11:04:19","date_gmt":"2026-03-02T11:04:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/quickbirdmedical.com\/?post_type=news&#038;p=27702"},"modified":"2026-09-03T07:32:32","modified_gmt":"2026-09-03T07:32:32","slug":"government-digitalisation-strategy-diga-dipa-epa-ai","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/quickbirdmedical.com\/en\/news\/government-digitalisation-strategy-diga-dipa-epa-ai\/","title":{"rendered":"German Government Digitalisation Strategy: DiGA\/DiPA, ePA and AI"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On February 11, 2026, the Federal Ministry of Health (BMG) published its <strong>further development of the digitalisation strategy for healthcare and long-term care<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Three planned measures in particular are relevant for DiGA manufacturers and medical device companies:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>DiGA\/DiPA and ePA:<\/strong> in future, DiGA and DiPA will not only be able to write data to the electronic patient record (ePA), but also <strong>read data from the ePA<\/strong> where this is necessary to personalise the application. This makes a bidirectional data exchange between DiGA and ePA possible.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Telemedicine care models:<\/strong> more comprehensive telemedicine care models are also to be integrated into DiGA in future.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Artificial intelligence:<\/strong> the stated goal is for AI-supported documentation to be <strong>actively used in more than 70% of healthcare and care facilities<\/strong> by 2028. The Health Research Data Centre is to be expanded to be &#8220;AI-ready&#8221; in order to enable better use of data for testing, training and validating AI applications. By the <strong>end of 2028<\/strong>, there should also be blueprints for the <strong>conformity assessment documentation for AI applications<\/strong> in healthcare.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Federal Ministry of Health has already announced a draft bill for a &#8220;Act on Digital Care and the Health Data Space&#8221; for the first quarter of 2026, which would anchor the central goals of the
