At the Austrian LiSA Vienna conference, the plans known so far for DiGA in Austria were reaffirmed. According to these, DiGA are to be available to Austrian insured persons from 2026. As a first step, an assessment procedure for DiGA is to emerge from the current pilot project at the end of February 2025.

According to an article in the online magazine DigitalDoctor, it was clearly emphasised at the conference that the criteria defined so far in the ongoing pilot project are “not far from the criteria required in Germany”.

This was stated by Arnold Herzog of AGES/BASG, who added: “That means anyone who has already been through the process will not have any great difficulty getting it through in Austria.”

This is a promising signal for manufacturers already listed in the DiGA directory in Germany. You can find the conference report at the following link: App auf Rezept: Erstattung 2026 möglich? | DigitalDoctor
