TK, Germany’s largest health insurer by membership, has published its second DiGA report (after 2022).
For the first time, TK includes the outpatient care history of
DiGA users in the 24 months before they used a DiGA. This is an approximate description of the care pathway leading to a DiGA.
The result: DiGA are used in the context of care that is becoming more intensive.
DiGA users are very often already heavily involved in outpatient treatment processes. This is reflected in rising rates of use of GP and specialist services as well as more frequent doctor visits in the year before using the DiGA.
At the same time, it is clear that for a relevant share of users, DiGA are used early in the course of the illness. For around 28 percent of users with a diagnosis, the relevant initial diagnosis was documented within three months before use.
