In Austria, the e-health strategy 2024-2030 has been published, setting out key goals for implementing the overarching principle of “digital before outpatient before inpatient” in the digitalisation of Austrian healthcare.
One of the goals it contains is the “creation of a uniform process for the assessment of digital health applications (DiGAs) and digital care applications (DiPAs) and, subsequently, where a benefit can be demonstrated, their introduction into healthcare“, to be achieved by 2026.
Austria is therefore taking another concrete step towards introducing DiGA.
