Five years after the introduction of DiGA, usage continues to grow: By the end of 2025, approximately 1.6 million activation codes had been redeemed, including about 690,000 in 2025. In total, this corresponds to over 1.7 million cases of care.

At the same time, hurdles persist in day-to-day care. Access is considered complex and often delays the start of therapy. Awareness of DiGA also remains a limiting factor.
At the same time, there are tensions regarding the assessment by the GKV-Spitzenverband. In a statement, the SVDGV specifically criticizes the way pricing, the level of evidence, and usage are presented in the current GKV report.
The two reports thus demonstrate one thing above all: While usage continues to grow, key questions regarding access, evidence assessment, and system integration remain controversial.
