A survey of the 20 largest private health insurers by the “Inside Digital Health” desk at Handelsblatt found that only very few of them plan to provide an electronic patient record (ePA) for their policyholders in 2025.

The reasons for this are varied and partly attributable to necessary structural changes as well as to indications of existing security vulnerabilities.
